Who are we?
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.
We, Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Christians born in Bulgaria or other countries, members of the One Holy Eastern Orthodox and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, in the city of Orlando, State of Florida, desiring the propagation of our faith and its teachings for ourselves and our posterity, did unite together as a Parish and Church on the 22nd day of October, in the year of 2009 of the Birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ, under the authority and jurisdiction of the Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Diocese of the USA, Canada, and Australia, under the omophorion of the Bulgarian Patriarch and the Holy Synod in Sofia, solemnly pledging ourselves to be governed by the Holy Tradition, that is, the whole body of teaching and practice of the One Holy Eastern Orthodox and Apostolic Church. The Diocese exists under the canonical jurisdiction of the historical autocephalous Bulgarian Orthodox Church β Bulgarian Patriarchate.
Our mission is to proclaim the Gospel of Our Lord Jesus Christ to all people as written in the New Testament of the Holy Bible, to teach by both word and deed, to inspire all to lead a life of Eastern Orthodox Christian belief, worship, and service to others as outlined in the Constitution of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church β Bulgarian Patriarchate.
The church is located at:
1185 Bunnell Rd, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714
Thanks to the efforts and financial support of our parishioners from Central Florida and elsewhere, the church community's property was purchased on August 1, 2014. The Church Board of Trustees regularly holds open meetings, which everyone is welcome to attend.
On October 16, 2016, with the blessing of Metropolitan +Joseph, Reverend Father Atanas Megerov was appointed and installed as a parish priest by the then-vicar, His Grace Bishop +Daniil (now Patriarch +Daniil of Bulgaria). Since then, regular weekly Sunday services have been held. The calendar of services is published at the beginning of each month on this website and the Facebook page.
